The Essex coastline is not far away from London, Kent, Hertfordshire or Cambridgeshire and offers a complete change of scenery with the bonus of not driving hours to reach it. Essex is one of the driest areas in the UK with an annual rainfall level of 10.3 inches. Compare this to Cornwall which has 35 – 39 inches a year, and it is clear that you’ll have more good weather to make the most of every precious day out in Essex, and there is a lot to do and see here…..

Events

The Clacton Air Show is back and will take place on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 August this year. The show can be seen from the sea front and features vintage aircraft, aerobatic and display teams, including the RAF team. All along our coastline are sailing communities which have annual regattas where you can spend a lazy day watching boats race each other, take a boat out or even join in with the mud races or tug of war…in the mud! Some of the best regattas can be found in Maldon, Heybridge, Mersea Island, Brightlingsea and Manningtree.
