At Osea we adore our natural surrounds, our local area is filled with breath-taking views across miles of spectacular salt marshes and secluded sandy beaches. Late summer is a wonderful time to visit, we’re blessed with Indian summers, lovely warm days, dry climes and awe-inspiring sunsets.

What can you do here?

We’re situated close to so much to see and do! The historic market town of Maldon is just a few miles away and is ideal for a wander around its independent boutiques and cafes. It was also the backdrop for a new film, ‘The Essex Serpent’, starring Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston, so keep your eyes-peeled, you never know who’s about!

The Great Outdoors

In our lovely part of Essex there are many outdoor activities to enjoy, bird watchers will love spotting the migrating birds that flock to our shores, the estuary is a wonderful haven for wildlife. Or if you’re feeling sporty, why not try your hand at kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding down the river? There’s plenty of walks to choose from and many pubs along the way to help you keep refreshed!

Enjoy Harvest!

Late summer is also a great time to enjoy harvest by the sea. Essex is famed for its oysters, fresh fish, Maldon sea-salt, Tiptree Jams, vineyards and local brewhouses, so if you like fine food and drink, there’s an abundance of local produce on offer. Farmer’s markets are also a great place to try locally sourced goods, especially fresh breads, cheeses, fish and meats. Treat yourself to a smorgasbord of local produce and bring it back to your glamping retreat for a special night in by the firepit!

At Osea we host a wide range of events from pub quiz nights and bingo to live performances and family events. Our Deckhouse is also open for you to treat yourself to a yummy takeaway or dine in and join us for a wide range of British classics and light snacks.
