There’s also walking trails nearby such as Maldon’s Promenade Park where you can wander beside the traditional old Thames sailing barges.

For the best dog-friendly eateries, try the Tiptree tearoom at the Osea View Café Bar, where you can enjoy a yummy afternoon tea after a delightful walk and sit outside with your four-legged friend, basking in the views over the estuary.

The Chequers Inn at Goldhanger also serves delicious pub food, plus an excellent selection of real ales, and is always ready to accommodate your doggy’s needs in their pub garden and three dog-friendly areas. Meanwhile, The Old Ship in Heybridge dishes up fresh fish and chips, as well as other pub favourites, and is happy to welcome you and your pet pal in all areas, as long as they are on a lead.
